LEAFLET 2: Monitoring of public green areas
The LEAFLET 2 project is gaining momentum with the operational mission carried out in Merano on November 27. The initiative aims to develop an innovative methodology and service to support professional operators involved in assessing the health and structural stability of public green areas.
For the survey activities, the MAVTech Q4X drone was used, equipped with the Altum PT multispectral sensor by AgEagle. This system makes it possible to capture both multispectral and RGB images, providing an in-depth view of the vegetative condition of urban flora. This approach enables the analysis of plant health and the early identification of critical situations, such as the risk of tree failure.
The project is based on a collaboration between MAVTech, the Municipality of Merano – Green Management and Environment Office and Studio Verde Torino. These two partners provide the technical skills and agronomic expertise essential for interpreting the collected data.
All the information gathered will be integrated into the GreenSpaces software by R3GIS, a platform dedicated to managing and documenting urban green maintenance activities. This integration will make it possible to generate detailed maps of the monitored areas.
