Pilot Day 2025: Our Drone Supporting the Rescuers
Friday 10 and Saturday 11 October, we were invited by the Belluno branch of the Italian National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps (CNSAS) to Rocca Pietore (BL) for the Pilot Day 2025, part of the INTERREG START Living Lab project supported by the European Union.
The event, dedicated to testing drone technologies for alpine rescue operations, brought together numerous rescuers, researchers, and partner companies involved in the project.
During the event, we tested the MAVTech Q4X drone in tethered mode, equipped with a device capable of creating a TETRA radio bridge to support rescue teams operating in areas with no communication coverage.
The test, developed in collaboration with CNSAS, took place in the Serrai di Sottoguda gorge (BL) — an ideal environment to simulate a real operational scenario, where reliable communication is a crucial factor for safety and mission effectiveness.
This field test allowed us to assess the system’s capabilities in action and to collect valuable data for the future development of MAVTech technologies designed to support search and rescue operations.
