The MAVTech Q4X Drone in Florence for the “Drone International Symposium”

On October 16–17, 2025, the Drone International Symposium was held at Palazzo Medici-Riccardi in Florence, an important event dedicated to the theme “The Impact of Drone Technology on Society: benefits and challenges”, organized by the Institute of Applied Physics, the Universidade de Vigo, and ABzero Life Saving Partner.

On this occasion, the MAVTech Q4X drone was presented by ORiS as part of the jointly developed project “Far-Field Wireless Power Transmission for drone recharging based on laser technology”.

During the symposium, ORiS showcased its capability to recharge a drone at a distance of over 100 meters using laser technology, also illustrating how the receiver was successfully integrated into the Q4X drone, enabling efficient charging at 20 meters.
The flight tests, essential for validating the technological integration, were carried out directly by MAVTech during the project’s experimental phase, prior to the Florence event.
